Falga has an unconventional instrumentation of baritone saxophone, guitar, piano, bass and drums, but even more distinctive are their compositions.
With a daring minimalistic approach, their untitled debut album contains some pieces that take the listener to a sensational level of suspense.
The last tunes of this record are particularly thrilling. In the other songs the quintet looks for its own path as well, with different musical influences ranging from modern jazz, prog rock to electronic music.
Often the musicians are in search for an unusual timbre.
At times there is a stunning friction between the piano, guitar and saxophone, during which the excellent drummer Aleksander Skoric does not remain disregarded.
Falga’s debut is an example of diversity. Sometimes busy and chaotic, sometimes lyrical and sober, but most of all, Falga already sounds like itself."
